Oxygène FM: Elevating Mountain Radio Broadcasting

Oxygène FM is a network of local radio stations in France, dedicated to mountain regions and local information. The network broadcasts its programs across the Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Isère, and Savoie, operating 19 transmitters that cover 40 mountain stations.

A Network Rooted in Mountain Culture

Established in 2006 in the winter sports resort of Auron, within the commune of Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, Oxygène FM was founded under the association "Radio Espace Mercantour." Over time, the network expanded, with local stations managed by associations such as "Association Radio du Briançonnais" and "Radio Oxygène Maurienne." In 2010, the "Groupement de Moyens Oxygène" association was created to pool resources among the different stations.

Embracing Digital Broadcasting

Demonstrating a commitment to innovation, Oxygène FM extended its reach to Nice in 2018 through DAB+ digital broadcasting.

Recent Collaborations and Developments

In 2019, Oxygène FM partnered with 77FM, a local radio station in Meaux, Seine-et-Marne. This collaboration aimed to strengthen local radio presence in the region, combining resources and expertise to enhance programming and outreach.

Oxygène FM continues to serve as a vital voice for mountain communities, offering tailored content that resonates with local audiences while embracing technological advancements to broaden its reach.
