Owned and operated by Bauer Radio, it broadcasts on FM and DAB on frequencies across the region, as well as nationally on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media and online. The station plays a mix of chart, contemporary and classic hits, with specialist programming on weekday evenings. It is the most listened-to commercial radio station in Scotland, with a weekly reach of over 700,000 listeners.

Clyde 1 was launched on Monday 31 December 1973 by current chairman Gordon MacDougall, originally broadcasting on 1035 kHz AM. Clyde 1's programming consists of a mix of chart, contemporary and classic hits, with specialist programming on weekday evenings. The station's flagship breakfast show is hosted by George Bowie, while other presenters include Cassi, Greigsy, Grant Thomson, Boogie, and Robin Galloway.
