Planet Rock

Planet Rock is a British digital radio station owned by Bauer Radio. It broadcasts classic rock music from the 1970s onwards. It is available nationally on DAB digital radio, Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media, Freesat and online. Planet Rock forms part of Bauer Radio's portfolio of radio brands.

Planet Rock was launched on 1 November 1999 as the only classic rock radio station in the UK at that time. It was founded by Malcolm Bluemel and run by him and a small team of other music radio professionals. The station's output was based on classic rock music from the 1960s to the 1990s, with an emphasis on the genre's biggest names.

The station's presenters include former BBC Radio 1 DJ Paul Anthony, Alice Cooper, Tony Iommi, Fish, Joe Elliott, Rick Wakeman, Alice Cooper, and many more. Planet Rock also plays exclusive interviews and live sessions from artists such as The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and more.

Planet Rock is also home to the annual Planet Rockstock festival, which takes place in December each year. The festival features some of the biggest names in classic rock, including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Deep Purple.
