It is the flagship station of the Pacifica Radio Network, which is a non-commercial, listener-supported network of over 200 affiliated stations in the United States. KPFA broadcasts a variety of programming, including news, public affairs, music, and cultural programming. The station is known for its progressive and left-wing political coverage, and is one of the few remaining non-commercial radio stations in the United States. KPFA is also the only radio station in the United States to be owned and operated by a non-profit organization.
