Metro Radio is a British commercial radio station broadcasting to the North East of England. It is owned and operated by Bauer Radio and forms part of Bauer's City 1 network of stations. It broadcasts from studios in Newcastle upon Tyne, and has been on air since 1974.

Metro Radio broadcasts on FM and DAB across the North East, Cumbria and parts of North Yorkshire. It is also available nationally on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media.

The station plays a mix of chart hits and classic pop and rock from the last four decades, as well as news, sport and travel updates. It also broadcasts specialist music shows on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Metro Radio is the official radio station of Newcastle United Football Club, and broadcasts live match commentary and post-match interviews. It also broadcasts live coverage of the North East's biggest music festivals, including Evolution Festival and the Metro Radio Arena.
