Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS)

Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS) is a non-profit radio reading service that provides access to print materials for people who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print-handicapped. CRIS broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provides access to newspapers, magazines, books, and other printed materials. CRIS also provides access to information about health, education, employment, recreation, and other topics of interest to the print-handicapped community. CRIS broadcasts in English and is available throughout Connecticut on special receivers, on the internet, and through a telephone-based service. CRIS is funded by the State of Connecticut, the United States Department of Education, and donations from individuals and organizations.
